Absolutely beautiful 2 piece dressing table. The pieces are Louis XV style, and were made in Florence, Italy by Natale Busoni (paper sticker attached). They are dated 4/12/12 (1912). Altman of New York, which was a very high end department store around the turn of the century. Each piece is fabulously hand painted with a darker, olive green background color. There are several, hand painted, rose and floral swags which cascade along the top, bottom, and sides of the mirror as well as on the top and on each side of the apron, and on the front legs. There is extensive gilding/gold leaf on the pieces as well. The table top has two open slots towards the back in which the mirror attaches with elongated, wooden pegs.
The table does not have drawers. The pieces are in good, original condition with no touch ups or restoration. Therefore, there are some chippy areas to the paint and gold leaf which does add to the antique character. There are also a few minor scratches, but, in general, this is an incredibly beautiful set. The mirror rests well on the table and the dressing table is very sturdy. When the mirror is attached, the dressing table is 58 tall. Without the mirror, it is 31 tall. It is 36" wide at the back, curved leg section and it is 15" front to back.
